Taipei, Nov. 25 (CNA) Taiwanese prodigy Audrey Lin (林品彤) was picked from a group of talented performers as Golden Horse Awards best leading actress on Saturday for her emotionally involving performance in the drama "Trouble Girl" (小曉) by director Chin Chia-hua (靳家驊).

The victory made her the youngest ever winner of the category.

In the movie, Lin portrays Hsiao Hsiao (小曉), a schoolgirl whose love-hate relationship with her mother becomes more tenuous after she discovers her mother is having an extramarital affair with her teacher.

In her acceptance speech, the 12-year-old Lin thanked Chin for taking a chance on her, the film's executive producers Yeh Ju-fen (葉如芬) and Wang Hsiao-yin (王小茵), and her co-stars.

She also thanked her character and hoped that those who are as special as Hsiao Hsiao keep being kind and not give up because "things will look up."
