Taipei, Jan. 11 (CNA) Taiwan's Wu Fang-hsien (吳芳嫻) and her Chinese partner Jiang Xinyu (蔣欣玗) won the women's doubles title at the 2025 Hobart International in Australia Saturday.
Second seeds Wu and Jiang beat Monica Niculescu of Romania and Fanny Stollar of Hungary, 6-1, 7-6 (8-6), to secure victory in the final at the Hobart International Tennis Centre.
The win saw Wu and Jiang clinch their second WTA 250 title in less than a week following their triumph over Aleksandra Krunic of Romania and Sabrina Santamaria of the United States at the Aukland Open on Jan. 5.
On Saturday, Wu and Jiang broke Niculescu and Stollar's serve three times on their way to winning the first set 6-1.
Despite going behind 1-3 in the second set, Wu and Jiang rallied to win the second set 7-6 (8-6) and with it the title.
The victory in the Hobart International is Wu's third WTA Tour title.
The Hobart International served as a key warm-up to the Australian Open.
Wu, World No. 49, and Jiang, world No. 41, teamed up with each other in several tournaments in 2024, with their best performance at the Washington Open, where they lost in the final to Taylor Townsend and Asia Muhammad of the U.S.
