Taipei, Jan. 25 (CNA) Four people were taken to hospital and 53 others were evacuated after a fire broke out early Sunday in a building in Taipei's Da'an District, according to the Taipei City Fire Department.

The department said it received an emergency report at 4:43 a.m. and dispatched 20 fire engines, four ambulances and 68 personnel to the scene.

According to the Taipei City Fire Department, firefighters rescued one man and three women from the building.

All four had suffered smoke inhalation.
