Social media giant Facebook, related services down
Taipei, April 14 (CNA) Online social media and social networking service Facebook and its related apps crashed Sunday, leaving them inaccessible to users for a second time within a mere month.
Facebook was found to be inaccessible at around 6:40 p.m., while Facebook-related service Instagram was also found to be down.
However, some users were still able connect to Facebook via their smartphones. The cause of the crash was unknown and being investigated.
The last worldwide Facebook crash occurred March 14.
According to technology failure detector Downdetector, the last outage affected users for 12 hours in most parts of the world, with the biggest impact felt in North America and Europe.
Following the March 14 crash, Facebook described the problem as being the result of a "server configuration change."
