Taiwan should increase its healthcare spending to 8 percent of GDP from the current 6.6 percent to solve problems with the National Health Insurance (NHI) system and fund comprehensive nursing care services, Taiwan People's Party (TPP) Chairman and presidential candidate Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) said Wednesday while announcing his healthcare platform.
