Kaohsiung mayor candidate 'renounces' degree amid plagiarism controversy

Li Mei-jhen (李眉蓁), the opposition Kuomintang's (KMT) candidate in the upcoming mayoral by-election in Kaohsiung, announced Thursday that she was "renouncing" her graduate degree, amid mounting accusations that she had plagiarized her thesis, but said she intended to remain in the race.
