Taipei, Aug. 26 (CNA) Taiwanese actress-director Sylvia Chang (張艾嘉), producer of the upcoming fantasy romance "Measure in Love" (他年她日), has been named recipient of the Camellia Award at the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

Speaking to reporters at a charity event in Taipei on Tuesday, Chang said she was delighted to receive the honor and hoped it would inspire other female filmmakers and those working in the arts.

According to BIFF, the Camellia Award was established in 2024 to honor the power of women in film, and is presented to a prominent filmmaker or industry professional whose work has elevated the status of women in the field.

It will be presented at the opening ceremony of the festival, which is set to run in Busan, South Korea, from Sept. 17-26.

Meanwhile, "Measure in Love" has been selected by BIFF for the Open Cinema section, an outdoor screening venue showcasing new films that blend artistic merit with popular appeal.

Chang said the film differs greatly from her previous work, with sets, visual effects, and even costume fabrics created from scratch. She added that she was fortunate actor Hsu Kuang-han (許光漢) liked the script enough to star in the movie.

The film tells the story of two people following a massive earthquake that splits the world in two and distorts time and gravity on both sides. They later meet and fall in love as if by fate and together defy the twists of time.

This fantasy romance will premiere in Taiwan on Oct. 3.
