Taipei, Feb. 11 (CNA) Taiwanese carrier EVA Airways has opened bookings for its new Taoyuan-Washington, D.C. route, with flights to commence on June 26, 2026, the company said Wednesday.

The direct service, the first by a Taiwanese carrier to the U.S. capital, will operate Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from Taoyuan International Airport, and Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from Washington Dulles International Airport, EVA Air said.

The route will be flown by Boeing 787-9s equipped with business, economy, and a brand-new fourth-generation premium economy cabin, it added.

According to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, EVA Air's new service is expected to generate more than US$61 million in annual economic benefits for the Washington metropolitan area.
