Taipei, Sept. 23 (CNA) Taiwan has taken a "bold" and "necessary" step by submitting an application to join one of the world's biggest free-trade groups, the 11-nation Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), according to a scholar at the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER).
