Taipei, Aug. 3 (CNA) Experts from local and foreign medical tourism entities will share their experiences at a forum in Taipei next week, the organizers said Saturday.

The day-long forum, scheduled for Aug. 6, is being organized as Taiwan has been trying to develop medical tourism in recent years, said the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the island's main trade promotion body.

Renee-Marie Stephano, president of the Medical Tourism Association, will talk about her experience of working with governments and hospitals in developing sustainable medical tourism programs and strategies.

Yu Wei-siang, executive chairman at Borderless Healthcare Group, and Fu Jene-John, president of Shanghai Ruidong Hospital, are also expected to participate in the event, TAITRA said.

Industry heavyweights and representatives from other fields will also exchange their thoughts over future trends and developments in the sector, the organizers said.
