Taipei, June 22 (CNA) Unemployment in Taiwan rose slightly in May as university graduates entered the job market, according to data released by the government statistics bureau Friday.
The unemployment rate in May was 4.12 percent, an increase of 0.02 percentage points from the previous month, but 0.15 percentage points lower year-on-year, the Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS) reported.
Meanwhile, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in May was 4.25 percent, the data showed. This represented a 0.06 percentage point increase from the previous month but was 0.16 percentage points below the figure for May 2011, according to the DGBAS.
