Taipei, Jan. 28 (CNA) Officials of the Taipei City Hall BusStation, a major public transport hub, said Friday that they expectto see peak Lunar New Year traffic in the evening of Feb. 1, whentransport volume might hit 35,000 transits compared with the normaldaily flow of 24,000 transits.
The officials urged the public to try to avoid the City Hall areaif using public transport at that time.
Lunar New Year's Day in this Year of the Rabbit falls on February3.
They also noted that from Feb. 2-7, city buses will run on aweekday off-peak schedule, while those that regularly suspendservices on holidays will still operate, but on a curtailed weekdayschedule that will provide half the usual number of buses.
Taipei International Flora Expo shuttle buses, meanwhile, willkeep a holiday schedule of 3-4 minutes per service at peak times and5-10 minutes otherwise during the six-day New Year holiday.
The free shuttle service will run until 10: 30 p.m. on every dayof the holiday except for Feb. 2, Lunar New Year's Eve, when it willstop at 7 p.m.
