Taipei, Oct. 13 (CNA) The Taiwan International Travel Fair will open in Taipei in early November, with discounted early-bird tickets going on sale Tuesday, the Taiwan Visitors Association said.
The event, to be held Nov. 6-9 in Hall 1 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, will feature 1,600 booths representing 123 countries and cities, the association said in a statement.
The exhibition, previously called the Taipei International Travel Fair, has added "Taiwan" to its name as it enters its 40th year, the association said.
Japan's pavilion will have a record 252 booths. Tourism authorities from South Korea, the United States, Thailand, Malaysia, France and the Czech Republic will also take part, according to the statement.
Twelve airlines will take part, including first-time exhibitors Etihad Airways and Sun PhuQuoc Airways, while All Nippon Airways will return after several years away, the association said.
International exhibitors will occupy the first floor, while the fourth floor will focus on domestic travel, featuring government agencies, hotels and theme parks.
New exhibitors include Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and InterContinental New Taipei Hot Spring, the association said. Presentations will showcase destinations and themed tours for visitors planning trips in 2027.
Early-bird tickets cost NT$150 (US$4.70), 25 percent off the regular NT$200 price, and are available Tuesday and Wednesday through six sales channels, including Klook, KKday and ibon, the association said. Advance tickets will then be sold for NT$180 from Oct. 15 to Nov. 5.
The association will also give away tickets through a blood donation campaign at 18 locations in Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung and Yilan from Oct. 31 to Nov. 7. Donors will receive one ticket for giving 250 milliliters of blood or two for 500 milliliters, with a maximum of two tickets per person, while supplies last.
The fair will be open to the public from noon to 6 p.m. on Nov. 6 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 7-9, the association said.
