Taipei, Sept. 1 (CNA) A government planning committee on Tuesday unveiled the official logo for the 2026 National Day celebrations, set for Oct. 10.
The emblem, shared on Facebook by the National Day Preparatory Committee, features two Chinese characters for "10" (shí, 十) written in a grid-like arrangement of squares, using the red, blue and white color scheme of the national flag.
Beneath the design, the Chinese text "Republic of China" and "Happy Birthday" flank the national flag, in a slogan carried over from 2025 and 2024.

Meanwhile, the new English slogan "Taiwan · Together as One," replaces the phrase "A Beautiful Taiwan Today, A Better Taiwan Tomorrow," used in the two previous years.
Deputy Interior Minister Wu Tang-an (吳堂安), secretary-general of the committee, said the Double Ten logo was composed using semiconductors as a design concept.
The design "symbolizes the intersection of countless sources of innovative energy -- much like the individual computing units within a chip -- as they converge to drive the nation steadily forward," Wu said.
Wu said Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜), who serves as chairman of the preparatory committee, had set the theme for the logo, while "Taiwan · Together as One" served as the logo's "core spirit."
Since Han, of the opposition Kuomintang (KMT), became chair of the committee in 2024, all three National Day logos have featured the colors of the national flag.
In contrast, in the 2016 to 2023 celebrations, when the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) held the speakership, the colors on the logo varied widely.
