Tsai upbeat about third power transition

Taipei, Jan. 15 (CNA) Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential candidate Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) expressed hope Friday at her election-eve campaign rally that Taiwan's people would welcome a third power transition in Taiwan.

Speaking at the event in front of the Presidential Office, Tsai said Taiwan's people will wave goodbye to the old politics in Taiwan with their votes Saturday and their determination will eventually overcome every difficulties.

Tsai said she hoped that all people in Taiwan will happily welcome the third transition of power in Taiwan's democratic history, which she said will be the starting point of new politics.

She promised to promote five areas of political reforms to move Taiwan toward true unity.
