Taiwan to defend sovereignty, rights over Taiping Island: Ma (update)

President Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九) said Tuesday that the Republic of China government will "staunchly defend" its sovereignty over Taiping Island in the South China Sea and every right held by the country under international law.
