Taipei, Jan. 18 (CNA) Taiwanese Mandopop king Jay Chou (周杰倫) tied the knot Sunday with model Hannah Quinlivan (昆凌) in a church in Britain, where an extravagant wedding was held, featuring a song composed by Chou and played by a local string ensemble.

The wedding at Selby Abbey, a church in the Yorkshire town of Selby, was decorated in a splendid style, with the couple dressed in handmade wedding clothes.

Quinlivan was also wearing a crown that cost NT$33.38 million (US$1.05 million) and a necklace worth NT$278.1 million during the extremely lavish ceremony.

Chou, who had his own wedding music played, explained that he wrote the song himself "to make the wedding different."

"Chou seemed a little bit nervous. He was busy and happy," Chou's agent, Yang Chun-jung said. "Although it took a long time for the rehearsal, he was very satisfied with the orchestra."

"The wedding was super-romantic," Yang said.

Chou's wife has a Taiwanese mother and an Australian father.
