Taipei, June 7 (CNA) A Daily Air Corp. plane was grounded temporarily on Tuesday due to a nose landing gear malfunction discovered after landing at the local airport on Orchid Island (Lanyu) off southeast Taitung county, according to the airline. No casualties were reported.

The nose landing gear of the 19-seat commuter, DHC6-400, which flew from Taitung lowered at an angle as the plane landed at Lanyu Airport, the airline said.

After initial checks the damaged parts were replaced, the company said. However, it is still in contact with the airplane's manufacturer in an effort to determine the cause of the problem before returning to Taitung.

In April, another DHC6 operated by Daily Air veered off the runway and crashed badly damaging the nose and body of the plane and injuring four passengers, but the cause of the accident has yet to be determined.
