Cold front approaching Taiwan: CWB

Taipei, Oct. 19 (CNA) It is expected to be sunny or cloudy from Sunday to Tuesday in Taiwan, but a bout of cold has been forecast beginning Wednesday which will bring rain and the mercury down for northern and eastern Taiwan, the Central Weather Bureau said.

There is also a chance of scattered showers in some areas of eastern Taiwan Sunday, the CWB added.

Daytime highs could rise to around 30 to 32 degrees Celsius in western Taiwan and 27 to 28 degrees in eastern Taiwan, but it might feel a bit chilly in the night and morning, it forecast.

The cold front could start approaching Taiwan Wednesday and pass through Saturday, with stronger seasonal northeastern winds, making northern and northeastern Taiwan cooler. The island might also see more showers in some areas in eastern, central and southern Taiwan, the bureau said.
