The so-called "1992 consensus" reached between Taiwan and mainland China is irreplaceable, as it serves as a framework designating the political relations between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, Lien Chan (連戰), a former chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT), said in Beijing on Tuesday.
