Taiwanese heading to the U.S. for COVID vaccines

In recent weeks, Taiwanese people who can afford the time and money have flown to Guam or the U.S. mainland to get free vaccinations. The U.S. is offering free vaccines to people who arrive from countries to and from which travel is not banned. Anyone who is at least 18 years old, hasn't had a COVID-19 vaccinations and doesn't currently have the coronavirus, can get a one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine at places like the San Francisco International Airport and U.S. pharmacies, including many in California. CNA recently spoke to a vaccine tourist and a travel agency official about this trend sparked by a shortage of vaccines in Taiwan.
