Taipei, Sept. 9 (CNA) A seven-year-old boy in Taiwan's Yilan County accidentally swallowed an Ultraman pendant while eating cookies and watching TV, but doctors expect him to suffer no serious harm as a result.
The boy was taken to Lotung Poh-Ai Hospital, where an X-ray showed the 2.8-centimeters-long and 1.4-centimeters-wide Japanese superhero trinket had moved into his intestines.
Hsieh Chin-tung (謝錦桐), the hospital's director of pediatrics, said the pendant is small and blunt, and should come out naturally within two days, though further treatment may be needed if it does not.
The incident came to light after a post on social media website Threads on Tuesday revealed the boy had claimed to have swallowed the pendant on Saturday, alongside an image of the X-ray purportedly showing the small figurine inside the child's body.
