Taipei, March 3 (CNA) Spring flowers are blossoming in parks and hillsides across Taipei, dotting the capital of Taiwan with colorful and fragrant paints.
Azaleas and hydrangeas
The 2024 Taipei Azalea Festival opened on Friday, inviting visitors to appreciate the beauty of the city's official flower, which is in full bloom throughout March.
In addition to azaleas, other flowers such as hydrangeas can also be viewed at Daan Forest Park.
Although the festival is officially located in Daan Forest Park, azaleas can be seen in many green spaces and parks across Taipei, including National Taiwan University and Yangmingshan National Park.
Cherry blossoms and roses
At the Yangmingshan Flower Festival, which runs until March 17, apart from azaleas, cherry blossoms and daffodils are showcased, along with many other flowers.
The 2024 Taipei Rose Festival also opened in the Xinsheng Park Area of Taipei Expo Park on Friday.
The rose exhibition displays more than 800 varieties of roses from around the world, according to the Taipei City Government Parks Street Lights Office.
The best time to view the roses is around mid-March, according to the office.
Tulip festival ends
Meanwhile, for flower lovers these ongoing floral displays take over from the Shilin Residence Tulip Festival at Chiang Kai-shek Shilin Residence Park, which ended on Sunday, the office said.
People seized the last opportunity to view the 30 varieties of tulips on display from Japan and the Netherlands.
