
Taipei, Jan. 17 (CNA) Garbage and recycling collection schedules will vary over the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday from Jan. 20-29. CNA has compiled the following collection information from the governments of Taiwan's six special municipalities.
More detailed information, as well as the collection schedules of cities and counties not included here, can be found on the website of your local environmental protection bureau.
Taipei City
Regular service: Jan. 20-21 (Fri-Sat)
No service: Jan. 22-24 (Sun-Tue)
Regular service resumes: Jan. 25 (Wed)
New Taipei City
Regular service: Jan. 20 (Fri)
Adjusted collection schedule: Jan. 21 (Sat) -- no service after 6 a.m.
No service: Jan. 22-24 (Sun-Tue); Jan. 25 (Wed) -- garbage collection starts, ends earlier
Regular service resumes: Jan. 26 (Thurs)
Note: garbage can be dropped off at 72 designated locations across New Taipei City (link) from Jan. 22-24.
Taoyuan City
Adjusted collection schedule: Jan. 20 (Fri) -- one service in the afternoon and regular collection in the evening. Jan. 21 (Sat) and Jan. 26 (Thurs) -- one service after 9 a.m., no evening garbage collection
No service: Jan. 22-25 (Sun-Wed)
Regular service resumes: Jan. 27 (Fri)
Note: Fuxing Township will operate a different collection schedule
Taichung City
Adjusted collection schedule: Daytime only garbage collection on Jan. 18 (Wed), Jan. 20 (Fri), Jan. 21 (Sat) and Jan. 25 (Wed).
Collection at designated locations/times only (link): Jan. 23-24 (Mon-Tue)
No service: Jan 22 (Sun)
Regular service resumes: Jan. 26 (Thurs)
Tainan City
Adjusted collection schedule: On Jan. 20 (Fri), Jan. 21 (Sat) and Jan. 25 (Wed), garbage collection will begin four hours early and end at 6 p.m.
No service: Jan. 22-24 (Sun-Tue)
Regular service resumes: Jan. 26 (Thurs)
Kaohsiung City
Adjusted collection schedule: Jan. 21 (Sat) and Jan. 25 (Wed)
No service: Jan. 22-24 (Sun-Tue)
