Taipei, April 24 (CNA) Over 150 students and teachers from Tainan Municipal Da-Wan Senior High School have reported symptoms of diarrhea over the past two days, Tainan officials said Wednesday, as they work to determine the cause of the illness.

Since Tuesday evening, 146 students and five teachers and staff have reported experiencing stomach aches, vomiting and diarrhea, and 71 of them have sought medical treatment, the Tainan City Bureau of Education said.

The affected students and teachers have all been discharged from the hospital as of Wednesday evening and are recovering well, according to the bureau.

Yang Li-chun (楊力鈞), the school's principal, said Tainan health officials have collected samples of the food served at the school to determine if it was the cause of the illness.
