Temperatures drop in northern Taiwan
Taipei, Nov. 9 (CNA) Temperatures in northern Taiwan will fall 6 degrees Celsius on Friday due to intensifying northeasterly winds, and an extremely heavy rain warning has been issued for Yilan County, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
The weather in northern Taiwan will turn cool and rainy during the day, with highs of 23-24 degrees expected in areas from Taoyuan northward and in Yilan and 26-27 degrees in Hsinchu, Miaoli, Hualien and Taitung counties, CWB forecaster Chu Mei-ling (朱美霖) said.
A heavy rain warning has also been issued for New Taipei and Keelung cities, she said.
Temperatures in the north will gradually rebound over the weekend until Monday, when another cold air system will approach Taiwan and last through Thursday, Chu forecast.
