Taipei, Aug. 24 (CNA) The annual semiconductor exhibition, SEMICON Taiwan, will formally open in Taipei in September, according to the organizer, Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), which has said the event will be one of the largest of its kind.

SEMICON Taiwan 2025 will take place from Sept. 10-12 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, according to information on the event's website.

"This year's exhibition will bring together over 1,200 leading semiconductor and technology companies, with more than 4,100 booths and an expected attendance of over 100,000 industry professionals, making it one of the most influential semiconductor events in the world," it said.

SEMICON Taiwan is the nation's annual trade exhibition and conference for semiconductor, semiconductor device fabrication, microelectronics manufacturing, packaging, and test technologies, organized by SEMI and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).

According to the organization, more than 1,200 companies from 56 nations will have over 4,100 booths in halls 1 and 2 at the Nangang Exhibition Center.

The show will also feature more than 200 tech leaders from around the world, who will head 25 conferences during the expo, which is also celebrating its 30th anniversary since the inaugural show in 1996.

Furthermore, one of the most interesting aspects of the 2025 show will be the attendance of management-level representatives from three of the world's most prestigious computer memory and data storage companies: Micron Technology, SK Hynix and Samsung, the organizer said.

In addition, Japanese engineer Hiroshi Ishiguro will also head a talk, highlighting his fame as the "father of humanoids" in robotics.

Other than the three-day show and featured seminars, SEMI said that another element making the 2025 show one of the biggest ever annual tech expos held in Taiwan will be the holding of symposiums from Sept. 8-9, before the show officially opens.

The two-day symposiums will cover a wide variety of tech related topics, such as the application of semiconductors in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, automobiles and robotics, SEMI said.
