K-pop group Blackpink to perform in Kaohsiung next March on world tour
Taipei, Aug. 9 (CNA) South Korean girl group Blackpink will hold a concert in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan, in March 2023 as part of their "Born Pink World Tour" that begins in Seoul Oct. 15-16 this year.
The upcoming world tour was announced on the group's official website Monday evening.
The girl group's management company YG Entertainment said the world tour will take Blackpink to more than two dozen cities around the globe including Houston in the United States on Oct. 29, London from Nov. 30 to Dec. 1, Bangkok Jan. 7-8, 2023, and Kaohsiung March 18, 2023.
The tour will end in Auckland, New Zealand, on June 21 next year, the company said.
Blackpink's Kaohsiung concert will be their second appearance in Taiwan after their last performance in Taipei in 2019.
The K-pop group consisting of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa was formed in 2016 by YG Entertainment, a South Korean entertainment agency.
Blackpink released "The Album" in 2020, the group's first full-length album since their debut. The creation received nominations for Album of the Year at South Korea's 2020 Melon Music Awards and the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
According to YG Entertainment, Blackpink is scheduled to release their second album "Born Pink" in September.
