Furloughed workers up as manufacturing sector faces order cut

The number of furloughed workers on formal unpaid leave programs in Taiwan rose to nearly 16,000 over the past week, boosted by an increase in the manufacturing sector, the Ministry of Labor (MOL) said Wednesday.
