MediaTek shares plunge as U.S. tightens sanctions against Huawei

A move by the United States Department of Commerce to tighten sanctions against Chinese telecom giant Huawei Technologies Inc. sent shares of Taiwan-based integrated circuit designer MediaTek Inc. plunging Tuesday.
