Taipei, May 24 (CNA) China Airlines, one of Taiwan's two major carriers, announced Thursday that it will increase flights between Taiwan and Seoul, Penang and Palau this summer to cater to the increased number of tourists in the holiday season.

As a result, the number of flights operated by the airline between Taiwan and South Korea will rise to 26 per week, including its existing Songshan-Gimpo and Kaohsiung-Incheon routes, China Airlines said.

Meanwhile, daily round-trip flights between Taoyuan and Penang in Malaysia are set to begin June 7.

Round-trip flights from Taoyuan to the Pacific island nation of Palau will increase to two flights per week, on Mondays and Thursdays from June 25 to Aug. 30.
