Taipei, Aug. 29 (CNA) Ten-time NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony has arrived in Taiwan, just before his induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Anthony, also known as "Melo," landed at Taoyuan International Airport around 5 a.m. Friday. He is scheduled to attend the GQ Style Fest at Warehouse No. 4 in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei on Saturday.

At the event, Anthony will take photos with 80 fans. GQ staff will distribute queue numbers from 9:30 a.m., with 20 additional numbers available for backups.

The 41-year-old Anthony was the third overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft and is widely regarded as one of the league's best scorers.

Known for his signature jab step and pull-up jumper, he finished his 19-season career with 28,289 points, ranking him 10th on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

In addition to his 2012-13 scoring title and six All-NBA selections, Anthony led Team USA to three Olympic gold medals. He was also honored as one of the league's top 75 players in history.

Anthony, who announced his retirement in 2023, was elected to the Hall of Fame in April. He will be enshrined on Sept. 6 for both his NBA career and his role on the 2008 U.S. Olympic "Redeem Team," which won gold at the Beijing Games.
