Taipei, June 18 (CNA) Renowned Taiwanese restaurant chain Din Tai Fung announced recently that it will raise prices on selected menu items beginning June 22, citing rising operating costs.
In a statement, the company said the adjustments are necessary to maintain food and service quality amid higher ingredient and labor costs.
Under the new pricing, the restaurant's signature pork xiaolongbao will cost NT$29 (US$0.91) per dumpling, up from NT$28. Shrimp fried rice with egg will increase from NT$300 to NT$320, while house special spicy shrimp and pork wontons will rise from NT$230 to NT$240.
Din Tai Fung said it is making final adjustments to the updated menu, with the overall price increase expected to average around 5 percent.
The restaurant last raised prices in June 2024.
