Taipei, March 27 (CNA) Taiwan's Wu Fang-hsien (吳芳嫺) and her Chinese partner Jiang Xinyu (蔣欣玗) advanced to the women's doubles semifinals at the 2025 Miami Open after a straight-sets quarterfinal win on Wednesday.

The fourth-seeded Wu and Jiang defeated Wang Xinyu (王欣瑜) and Zheng Saisai (鄭賽賽) 6-3, 6-4 at the WTA 1000-level tournament for their fourth semifinals appearance this season.

Wu and Jiang will face Russia's Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider -- the 2024 Paris Olympic silver medalists -- in the semifinals on Friday.

Wu and Jiang finished as runners-up at the Doha Open, another WTA 1000 event, in February, the 25-year-old Wu's career-best performance at this level.

Their strong showing in Miami comes as a rebound for the Taiwan-China duo, who won two titles earlier this year but suffered first-round exits at their last two tournaments, including the Indian Wells event in California earlier this month.

In Miami, however, Wu and Jiang regained their form early by defeating Indian Wells champions Asia Muhammad of the United States and Demi Schuurs of the Netherlands in the first round.

Speaking to CNA after Wednesday's match, Wu said she and Jiang had been focusing on daily training despite recent ups and downs.

She added that the two had learned valuable lessons from their recent losses, and reaching the semifinals shows they are moving in the right direction.
