Taipei, July 19 (CNA) Four people were injured Sunday after a city bus crashed into a bus stop in Taichung after being hit by a car that had collided with another vehicle.
The Taichung City Fire Bureau said it received a report at 3:08 p.m. that a bus had crashed into the National Museum of Natural Science bus stop in the dedicated bus lane on Section 2 of Taiwan Boulevard in the city's West District.
Police said the crash occurred after a 59-year-old man surnamed Chung (鍾), who was driving in the dedicated bus lane, attempted to change into a regular traffic lane and collided with a car driven by a 50-year-old woman surnamed Tsai (蔡).
The two cars then veered into a city bus traveling in the bus lane, causing it to lose control and crash into the bus stop. Police said Chung could face a fine of NT$600-1,800 (US$20-61) for illegally driving in the bus lane.

No drivers tested positive for alcohol or drugs, and the exact cause of the accident remains under investigation.
According to firefighters, the accident injured one bus passenger, one person waiting at the bus stop and two passengers in Tsai's car. All four sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
