Taipei, Nov. 11 (CNA) All domestic flights and some international flights scheduled for Wednesday have been canceled, as Tropical Storm Fung-Wong approaches Taiwan.

As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, the center of the storm was located about 300 kilometers southwest of Cape Eluanbi, Taiwan's southernmost point, and moving north-northeast to northeast at a speed of 11 to 16 kilometers per hour, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) said.

The storm is forecast to make landfall in Kaohsiung or Pingtung either Wednesday evening or night and then exit Taiwan through the southeastern county of Taitung early Thursday, CWA forecaster Chu Mei-lin (朱美霖) said earlier in the day.

Due to the storm's impact, both UNI Air and Mandarin Airlines announced that all of their domestic flights scheduled for Wednesday will be canceled.

Passengers who purchased tickets with a credit card can apply for a refund via the airlines' official websites or apps from Nov. 11, 2025, up to one year after the ticket's expiration date.

China Airlines and EVA Airways, Taiwan's two largest international carriers, as well as Tigerair Taiwan and Cathay Pacific, all announced the cancellation or rescheduling of flights, mostly departing or landing in Kaohsiung.

Meanwhile, ferry services between Kinmen and the neighboring Chinese coastal cities of Xiamen and Quanzhou will be suspended in both directions throughout Wednesday, the Kinmen County Port Affairs Office said Tuesday.

Passengers are advised to confirm sailing information with their ferry operators before traveling, the office said.
