Taoyuan, Oct. 25 (CNA) An inebriated man was arrested late Friday for smoking cigarettes on a Starlux Airlines flight from Toyko to Taoyuan.
The 26-year-old passenger, surnamed Lu (呂), had consumed two bottles of wine during the flight and was behaving erratically, the Aviation Police Bureau (APB) said Saturday.
After the Starlux plane taxied to its gate at Taoyuan International Airport 11:50 p.m. on Friday, the airline called the APB for assistance, the bureau said.
Police said that Lu loudly insulted responding officers with profanity and inappropriate hand gestures.
Lu was arrested for violating the Civil Aviation Act and for committing offenses of obstructing an officer in discharge of duties, police added.
