Taipei, March 10 (CNA) Passenger services between New Taipei's Shuangxi and Sandiaoling stations are delayed by an average of 5-10 minutes following a partial freight train derailment Monday morning.
In a news release, the state-owned Taiwan Railway Corp. (TRC) said that two wheels on the rear car of its 7501 freight train left the tracks at 10:54 a.m. on the westbound K20+200 section.
Trains traveling in both directions on the affected section are currently limited to a single track, resulting in delays, the TRC added.
Normal service is set to resume by 6 p.m. Monday, TRC said, adding that all scheduling changes can be viewed on its website and mobile application.
The TRC said that the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board would investigate the incident, which did not result in any injuries.
Meanwhile, the Railway Police Bureau said after an inspection of the scene that they had found no evidence of external forces leading to the derailment.
