
Taipei, March 17 (CNA) Taiwan's Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) on Friday reported 8,416 new cases of COVID-19 and 41 deaths from the disease.
The number of local infections reported Friday, 8,218, declined by 7.8 percent compared with the same day the previous week, according to the CECC.
To date, Taiwan has recorded 10,214,788 COVID-19 infections and 18,697 deaths from the disease since the pandemic began in early 2020.
The CECC announced on Feb. 23 that it would stop releasing detailed daily information on new COVID-19 cases and deaths.
