Kinmen, Dec. 14 (CNA) Sorghum liquor produced by Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Inc. (KKL) won a gold medal for ingenuity at the Quality and Brand Pioneer Forum of China on Dec. 8, according to a recent press release from the company.
Yang Ying-hsiung (楊應雄), who heads the KKL branch office in Xiamen, China, said the medal is further recognition of the distillery's quality products, following numerous awards won at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) and the Ultimate Spirits Challenge in recent years.
The Quality and Brand Pioneer Forum of China, organized by Chinese publishers Red Flag Publishing House (Hongqi Press) and People's Daily, was held for the second year.
Yang said the ingredients used in kaoliang are fermented under pure grain solid-state fermentation, a technique that gives the liquor a delicate and pure aroma.
According to KKL, Kinmen's signature liquor also featured in a documentary broadcast by China Central Television (CCTV) earlier this month.
The publicity will give greater exposure to the kaoliang brand as well as boost its prestige in China, the company's Xiamen executive said.
