Taipei, Sept. 9 (CNA) The New Taipei Metro Corp. announced Monday that it will issue limited edition one-day passes for its Danhai Light Rail Transit (LRT) system in New Taipei in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival that takes place later this week.

The tickets feature a mooncake illustration imprinted with a light rail train design and will sell for NT$50 (US$1.60) each, allowing holders unlimited rides on the Danhai LRT line in a single day.

They will be on sale at the LRT Hongshulin Station from Friday through Sunday, with 500 of the one-day passes available each day, the company said.

As part of the upcoming festival celebration, new public sculptures by renowned Taiwanese illustrator Jimmy Liao (幾米) have also been installed at the Danjin Dengong and Kanding stations.

The line, which began operation in December last year, runs through 11 stations between Hongshulin Station and Kanding Station, including seven overhead stops and four at ground level.
