Taipei, July 19 (CNA) Three Vietnamese nationals, including a May-December couple, have been arrested in Chiayi County for overstaying their visas, police announced Friday.

The three Vietnamese -- a 27-year-old man, as well as a couple who are in a May-December relationship -- were detained at a private residence in Jhongpu village Thursday, police said in a statement.

The woman, born in 1969, said she was in a relationship with a 26 year-old-man -- the youngest of the three, the police said.

She told police that she met her boyfriend when trying to find a job in Taiwan, although she was supposed to leave Taiwan a year ago when her one-month tourist visa expired.

The two men also entered Taiwan last year on tourist visas, the police said.

All three are being held at a detention center in Chiayi, waiting to be deported, the police said.
