Warsaw, Sept. 3 (CNA) A visiting delegation from Taiwan's defense industry has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ukrainian and Polish counterparts to build cooperation in the field of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology, Taiwan's representative office in Poland said Wednesday.
The MOU, signed at the International Defense Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Poland, states that Taiwan will provide technology and components, while Ukraine will contribute research and development, and Poland will share its expertise in the field, according to the office.
Taiwan's representative to Poland Jeff Liu (劉永健), who attended the signing ceremony, said the MOU will enhance future defense technology exchanges, expand industrial capacity, and strengthen security collaboration among the three signatories.
The Taiwanese delegation, led by Taiwan Defense Industry Development Association President Tony Hsu (徐綬章), comprised representatives from approximately 20 defense companies who were attending the MSPO.
At the event, the delegation engaged in a business matchmaking session, and Hsu signed the MOU on behalf of members of Taiwan's Thunder Tiger Group and the Taiwan Excellence Drone International Business Opportunities Alliance.
The Ukrainian and Polish signatories were Bartlomiej Dobosz, founder of the Taiwan-Poland Chamber of Commerce, and Dmytro Dymyd of Ukraine's Lviv Tech Cluster.
Now in its 33rd year, the MSPO is being held Sept. 2-5 in Kielce, Poland, featuring about 800 defense companies from 35 countries. It is considered the third-largest defense industry exhibition in Europe, after similar ones in the United Kingdom and France.
