Taiwan to continue major role in global chip competition: analyst

Taiwan will continue to enjoy great competitiveness in advanced and mature chip process technologies, despite efforts by the European Union and the United States to set up their own chip production chains at home due to booming semiconductor demand, an analyst said Wednesday.
