The de facto United States ambassador to Taiwan on Wednesday praised the government's choice of Morris Chang (張忠謀), founder of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), as the nation's representative to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders' summit in Papua New Guinea next month.
