ROC to break diplomatic ties with Sao Tome and Principe
Taipei, Dec. 21 (CNA) It is a "sure thing" that Sao Tome and Principe in west Africa will break diplomatic ties with the Republic of China, a ranking official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday.
The official confirmed that the west African country has asked for up to US$100 million dollars recently due to financial shortfalls, and the ROC government has turned down the request because it refused to accept dollar diplomacy.
