Taiwan Lottery launches 2 new scratch cards with NT$2.11B prize pool

Taipei, Oct. 5 (CNA) Taiwan Lottery Co. on Monday launched two new scratch cards offering more than 3.48 million prizes with a combined prize pool exceeding NT$2.11 billion (US$66.39 million).

In a statement, Taiwan Lottery said the first scratch card -- "Adding Gold to 10 (10來添金)" -- is priced at NT$500.

Players can win prizes by scratching off a single "10" or "10" symbol, two numbers that add up to "10," or three "10" numbers or symbols, with prizes awarded for the corresponding combinations.

Taiwan Lottery said the scratch card offers up to 15 chances to win, with four top prizes of NT$5 million each and a total prize pool of NT$1.35 billion. About 41 percent of tickets are expected to win prizes.

The second scratch card, "Joy From Heaven (喜從天降)," is priced at NT$200.

In Game 1, players win the corresponding prize when any of their "Your Numbers" match the "Lucky Numbers." Scratching off a "Gift" symbol wins all prizes in the Game 1 scratch area, Taiwan Lottery said.

In Game 2, players who reveal three identical prize amounts win that prize, Taiwan Lottery added.

Taiwan Lottery said the second scratch card offers six top prizes of NT$2 million each and more than 340,000 NT$1,000 prizes, adding that about 30.4 percent of tickets are expected to win a prize.
