Taipei, Nov. 5 (CNA) President Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九) said Thursday that his wife Chow Mei-ching (周美青) will not accompany him during his upcoming trip to Singapore, where he will have a landmark meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping (習近平).

"It isn't that I don't want to bring her along. It is she who does not want to go with me," Ma said smilingly when asked about the issue during a news conference.
