
A tree trunk that was part of a century-old banyan tree in Hualien County is seen after being pulled from the ground on Monday. Hualien agriculture chief Chen Shu-wen said the tree fell after a typhoon last year and was later found to have been infected by a disease and unsalvable after six months of effort.
