Taipei, Aug. 16 (CNA) A ticker-tape parade welcoming Taiwanese Olympians was held in Taipei on Friday, with athletes who represented the nation at the 2024 Paris Olympics taking part and enthusiastically waving to the cheering crowd.
Beginning at 3 p.m., participants drove in a convoy of vehicles from the Presidential Office to Zhongxiao West Road, proudly waving national flags and "Team Taiwan" banners as they were warmly greeted by onlookers.
"Boxing Queen" and gold medalist Lin Yu-ting (林郁婷) and bronze medalist Chen Nien-chin (陳念琴) repeatedly made heart gestures with their hands, expressing their gratitude to supporters.
Behind them were badminton men's doubles gold medalist Wang Chi-lin (王齊麟), men's horizontal bar bronze medalist Tang Chia-hung (唐嘉鴻), and judoka Lien Chen-ling (連珍羚) and Yang Yung-wei (楊勇緯).
